Gustave Vertunni worked during the 1940's & 1950's in Paris.  His range of personality figures covers a wide historic era, including the Napoleonic period and especially the Middle Ages.  His work is beautifully sculpted and painted, and highly collectable.

Gustave Vertunni, France, 54 mm, hollow cast, Ann of Cleves

Queen of England from 6 January 1540 to 9 July 1540 as the fourth wife of King Henry VIII. The marriage was declared never consummated, and, as a result, she was not crowned queen consort. Following the annulment of their marriage, Anne was given a generous settlement by the King, and thereafter referred to as the King's Beloved Sister.  She lived to see the coronation of Queen Mary I, outliving the rest of Henry's wives.

Very nice Rare had to find miniature. In my opinion, Henry VIII's wives by Vertunni are much nicer than Courtenay's figures.

Gustave Vertunni, France, 54 mm, hollow cast, Jane Seymour

Jane Seymour (c. 1508 – 24 October 1537) was Queen of England from 1536 to 1537 as the third wife of King Henry VIII. She succeeded Anne Boleyn as queen consort following the latter's execution for high treason, incest and adultery in May 1536. She died of postnatal complications less than two weeks after the birth of her only child, a son who reigned as Edward VI. She was the only one of Henry's wives to receive a queen's funeral, and his only consort to be buried beside him in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. She was the only wife of Henry VIII whose son survived infancy.

Very nice miniature of the Queen. Paint in very good condition with some minor chips.

Gustave Vertunni, France, 54 mm, hollow cast, King PhilipIV of France

Philip IV (April–June 1268 – 29 November 1314), called the Fair (French: Philippe le Bel)

The most notable conflicts of Philip's reign include a dispute with Edward I of England, who was also his vassal as the Duke of Aquitaine, and a war with the County of Flanders, which gained temporary autonomy following Philip’s embarrassing defeat at theBattle of the Golden Spurs (1302). To further strengthen the monarchy, he tried to control the French clergy and entered in conflict with Pope Boniface VIII. This conflict led to the transfer of the papal court to the enclave of Avignon in 1309.

Very nice miniature of the French King. Paint in excellent condition.

(13 April 1519 – 5 January 1589), the daughter of Lorenzo II de' Medici and of Madeleine de La Tour d'Auvergne, was an Italian noblewoman who was Queen of France from 1547 until 1559, as the wife of King Henry II. As the mother of three sons who became kings of France during her lifetime she had extensive, if at times varying, influence in the political life of France and for a time she ruled France as its regent.

Gustave Vertunni,  54mm ,hollow cast. King Charles VI of France

Charles VI (3 December 1368 – 21 October 1422), called the Beloved (French: le Bien-Aimé) and the Mad (French: le Fol or le Fou), was King of France from 1380 to his death. He was a member of the House of Valois.

Charles VI was only 11 when he inherited the throne in the midst of the Hundred Years' War. The government was entrusted to his four uncles: Philip the Bold, Duke of Burgundy; John, Duke of Berry; Louis I, Duke of Anjou; and Louis II, Duke of Bourbon. Although the royal age of majority was fixed at 14, the dukes maintained their grip on Charles until he took power at the age of 21.
