Courtenay , position # 3 , 50mm pewter, Sir John de Hampton, with moveable visor.

The number 3 & 4 are two of my favorite Courtenay poses. I have several of each with some variation of helm, weapon and of course heraldry. This particular #3 miniature has unusual heraldry. However it is correct and is shown as John de Hampton on page 26 of Peter Greenhills "Heraldic Sketchbook". Also on page 212 is a drawing of a Courtenay Studio miniature with de Hampton heraldry.

The miniatures paint appears shiny as it has a light coat of varnish to protect the paint.
