Whittlesey Miniatures

Designed and produced in England by the brothers Allan & Keith Over, who started their soldier making company with their Arkova Panoply range of knights introduced in 1983 and is comprised of 30 foot Knights, 3 mounted Knights, a set of 6 Men-at-Arms carrying bills (3 French & 3 English) and a Herald with 5 Trumpeter's in the livery of the Earl of Warwick.  Having acquired several of these knights in 2000, I have recently completed my quest for the set.  The final miniature to fall into my hands was # 27 Bernard Arnaud de Preissac, a Knight from Gascony.

The Whittlesey range was started in the late 80’s comprised of miniature knights from the 3 major battles of the Hundred Years War, Crecy, Poitiers & Agincourt. In addition Whittlesey miniatures also produced a series of knights from the War of the Roses as well.

The Whittlesey ranges of knights may be the finest miniatures representing the true appearance of the actual knights of the era! The knights finished in mat paint with weathering effect on coat-of-arms and armor, along with a wide range of different types of helmets’ and costume, were extremely well executed .  The sheer size of the ranges and heraldries is most impressive. Unfortunately these miniatures were never readily available in the U.S. making them hard to find and collect!
